Why the quotation marks?? Wash your hands. No ambiguity.
Where does management go wrong? By placing "wash hands" inside the quotation marks, this sign tells employees that they don't have to take these directions seriously.
Quick rules:
- If you mean what you say, then don't use quotation marks
Correction:
- Employee must wash hands
