Quotation Marks: Home of the Mystery Meats

Good news for hungry shoppers, or is it? Apparently this multi-purpose establishment has started serving food. On Twitter, @davebarrett summed this up eloquently with a tweet:
not where you want to be putting quotation marks, dude.

Where does this emporium go wrong? The use of quotation marks causes customers to start asking uncomfortable questions. Are you licensed to sell cold cuts? What's really in that bologna?

Quick rule:
  • If you mean what you say, don't use quotation marks. It makes people wonder what you might not be telling them.

Correction: Deli now open
