Quotation Marks: Please Be Courteous, Please

Misguided quotation marks are a never-ending source of fun in my life. I'd like to thank @lucaswmuller for sharing this picture on Twitter.

Where does this sign go wrong? The earnest request for common courtesy (heck, it even says 'please' twice) gets hijacked by inappropriately placed quotation marks.

Quick rule:
  • Do not use quotation marks if you mean what you say.

Correction:
  • Please hold and close the door gently!

  2. This blog highlights such an important aspect of modern healthcare. During emergencies, searching for an on call doctor near me is a real need, especially when visiting a hospital isn’t possible. Thankfully, on call doctor near me services provide quick and reliable solutions right at your doorstep.
